Welcome to the WiserEarth Blog
WiserEarth is in the business of ‘connecting people to communities of action’. Along the way we realized that people need help creating and managing these communities, especially when they have a significant portion of their life ‘online’ as opposed to ‘onlife’. This blog will showcase examples of successful community building and some of the learning we have picked up along the way while advising community managers and supporting the wider WiserEarth membership of over 20,000 people. If you are looking for specific help on community building look at our resources pages.
Thank you for the work you do,
Angus, Peggy, Bowo, Camilla, and the WiserEarth Community

hi, team.
I wanted to share a diary I wrote for the Daily Kos Thurs. night health series http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/3/5/700528/-Health-Care-Series:-twitter-…-tweet-…-tweet…-Omm...
because it has to do with neurology and attention and gives some (or attempts to give some) insight into WHY it is so difficult to retain membership in a social network …. I made a stab at it and thought you might be interested.
Also wanted to comment that at Daily Kos we host blogathons about every 3 months “Filling Empty Bowls, Feeding America.” (I provide here a link to my last diary as part of our last series.http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/2/14/697594/-Filling-Empty-Bowls:-36-Hours-for-Feeding-America-(4)-Unpaving-Paradise
and if you read through you will note that we have diarist throughout the weekend.
We raise a significant amount of funds for Second Harvest (now Feeding America) as well as donations to local food banks AND we profile the on the ground conditions across America. We are scheduling our 3rd event this weekend. (and yes, many of us have concerns about Second Harvest)….
Just thought I would mention this here. Perhaps WE might be interested in joining this blogathon and perhaps we might consider expanding it to Feeding the World ….. Kos has bloggers from numerous countries and certainly here we have individuals who could write from diverse locations….
Anyway, I’ve been very interested in publicising WEs work on Kos. There are some phenomenal minds writing on Kos, some of whom dabbled here on and off, some perhaps still here.
