Resources
This is our place for sharing ideas about how to build strong online communities. We suggest you begin with ‘Building Community‘ where we talk about defining a compelling purpose for your group and recruiting the appropriate membership. Then we move into ‘Managing Community‘ where we talk about leadership, governance, and structure. To Fundraising where we share ideas and tips for raising and sharing the resources needed to sustain your community. Finally we look into ‘Measuring Impact‘ of your community.
Along the way you can go go directly to our ‘Web 2.0 / Communication Tools‘ page where we detail a variety of commonly used tools and our recommendations for when and when not to use them.
We welcome you comments and suggestions on how to improve this resource.

hello all,
about “tribes” and the strategy behind building a community, You may find it related?

@pliotard: Great points raised by Seth. It reminds me a lot about all the talk around ’social objects’ that Joshua Porter talks about in his book ‘Designing for the Social Web’ – we’ll definitely be drawing on this line of thinking when we get to more community management posts / resources. Thanks for the tip.
